HAIR LOSS
|
Men and women both suffer from hair loss, whether it is termed AGA, (male pattern baldness), or Alopecia, whether it is thinning hair, receding hairline, or patchy hair loss -- the result can be alarming.
While we have grown to accept thinning hair, receding hair line and hair loss in men, seeing it as attractive and sexy -- Female hair loss is not viewed with the same desirability. Where men have come to embrace their hair loss, some even going as far as shaving their heads daily, women on the other hand have kept their hair loss a secret, hiding under hats, hair pieces and wigs.
However ... Mother Nature has provided a wealth of alternatives.
Let's look at HERBS ...
Bilberry contains fatty acids, and flavonoids -- among some other compounds -- helpful to correct hairloss due to stress or damage.
Horsetail contains calcium, copper, fatty acids, PABA, Pantothenic acid, silica, sodium, starch, zinc .. all very good for strenghtening hair.
Saw Palmetto - useful as a male tonic and supportive of male hormonal production. Androgenetic Alopecia, also known as Male Pattern Baldness, is an inherited condition that involves male sex hormones.
Maiden Hair Tree is more often referred to as Ginkgo Biloba, which is well known for its ability to improve circulation.
Vitamins, Minerals, Amino Acids Play Their Part In Hair Loss, Too
The B Vitamins play an important role in healthy hair growth and deficiencies have been linked to hair loss.
It is recommended to take B vitamins in complex form, because the B's work off eachother in complimentary fashion, although taking extra Biotin is a good idea.
Biotin can easily be obtained naturally from the foods you eat --- add bulghur wheat, brown rice, brewer's yeast, lentils, green peas, soybeans, sunflower seeds and walnuts to your diet.... what a yummy way to improve the condition of your hair.
Vitamin C is a wonderful antioxidant and helps improve circulation to the scalp.
Vitamin E, another good antioxidant, increases oxygen absorption and improves circulation to the scalp.
Zinc enhances immune function and stimulates hair growth.
Copper works with Zinc in aiding the growth and strengthening of hair.
Kelp supplies an abundance of natural minerals essential for hair growth.
L-Cysteine and L-Methionine improve quality, texture and growth of hair and help prevent hair from falling out.
Additional Information
1. Kombucha Tea ... I used Kombucha Tea and must truly admit .. it made the hair on my legs, arms and underarms grow like crazy. And, the hair that grew in was heavier and coarse. Friends of mine who also drank Kombucha Tea said the same thing ... especially the women. We used to joke about having a 5 o'clock shadow on our legs, and ... we weren't too far off the mark because hair growth was definitely stimulated by drinking Kombucha Tea.
Another friend continues to drink it and has done so for years to prevent baldness, hair loss and for general good health. After all these years, I'd say he is convinced.
Kombucha Tea can be used as a hair conditioner and scalp toner, being massaged into the scalp and rinsed.
Kombucha Tea is also a wonderful, natural antibiotic, an astringent and hosts a wealth of other benefits. The only problem with it is ... you must brew it yourself and allow it to ferment for 7 days ... and you need to get a starter mushroom (fungus) in order to do so. It is a wonderful tonic.
2. Apple Cider Vinegar is another wonderful hair rinse, helps to strengthen the hair you have and removes oil accumulation from the scalp and hair follicles (sebum plugs), permitting new hairs to come thru.
Medical Reasons For Hair Loss
Hypothyroidism, diabetes, stress, anxiety, and menopause have all taken their turn in the spotlight as causes for hair loss. If you suffer from any of these conditions, or if your hair loss is excessive and acute, please see your health care practitioner.
