New Madrid, Missouri Fault Discusson of Seismic Activity of New Madrid Fault in comparison to FEMA Earth Changes Chart 2013
A quick comparison of the New Madrid, MO fault and the FEMA chart show a prediction that the New Madrid fault has the propensity to become active with devastating changes on the horizon. Most guesstimates explain that the New Madrid fault has a 90% chance of movement by 2040, the FEMA chart shows the probability before 2013. As you look at the 'boot heel' of Missouri on the map on the left, you will see a lot of activity similar in shape to the chart on the right which shows the Mississippi River expanding like an inner sea. The map on the left shows the center of activity covering three states - Missouri, Tennesee and Arkansas. The chart on the right shows the confluence of the three states to be underwater, encompassing the 'boot heel' of Missouri. Do you live in this region? Knowledge is power. Be apprised of the possibilities. The FEMA chart also shows the west coast shoreline moving considerably inland with Phoenix being the southern end of a new shoreline. Will we see these drastic changes come to fruition? Only time will tell ... better to be prepared for the possibilities, rather than not. Also, you will notice that the New Madrid fault drops down below sea level, opening up a distinct open sea area leaving a small island of land west of New Orleans and a new mountain range in presently flat Kansas and its northern border state, Iowa. Is there a safe place to live in the United States? Well, it depends upon who you listen to ..... Michael Knight cautions that the lowest probable safety footage above sea level is 92 feet. Using this as a rule of thumb, you can easily see that numerous areas around the country are not to be deemed safe in correlation to any abrupt earth changes. Abrupt earth changes may take the form of a Solar Maximum Stage Event caused by extreme solar flare activity, coupled with global warming and rise of the world's sea levels. Pacific Rim Seismic activity on the west coast with resultant techtonic plate movement and tidal waves may also be taken into this equation. Seismic activity in the Gulf of Mexico is not unheard of and recent activity has been reported by the USGS . On February 10, 2006, a 5.2 quake occurred and on Sept 10, 2006 the Gulf of Mexico experienced a 6.0 quake, the latter being 250 miles south of Apalachicola, FL. Neither quake caused a tidal wave, however ... how much activity is necessary to cause a tsunami that will surpass that which occurred in 1844 that completely wiped out the last vestiges of the once prosperous City of Old St. Joe ? Seismologists at the USGS say eastern Gulf of Mexico quakes are an oddity ... hmmmm .... It IS odd that two quakes registering 5.0 or larger would occur within seven months of each other. A look at the FEMA chart above right shows Port St. Joe under water by 2013 (located in the central part of the Panhandle shown on the map in 'blue'.). Read more about it here , here, and here. Probability map of earthquake activity in California on the San Andreas, Hayward, San Jacinto, and Imperial faults from the Southern California Earthquake Center can be viewed here. This map is updated hourly, Will California shake, rattle and roll again? It appears that it is not a matter of if, but rather a matter of when.
