Dead Lakes, Wewahitchka, FL
Dead Lakes may have a spooky sounding name, conjuring up all types of paranormal and strange activities just by the sound. In reality, though, the Dead Lakes received its name some years ago when the Apalachicola River formed sand bars that blocked the Chipola River's drainage into it -- hence the ensuing high waters killed off a lot of the Cypress trees, the remnants of which still stand 'dead' in the lake. This being said, we decided to investigate the area due to its uncommon beauty and ethereal presence. What we found may surprise you ! See below for our paranormal investigation.
Date(s): September 5, 2007 Location:Wewahitchka, FL (Dead Lakes area) Weather Conditions: Slightly overcast,, warm, low humidity Site Properties: Woodlands near Apalachicola and Chipola Rivers close to Apalachicola State Forest Investigators: Astoria, Dolphyn and Teresa from F.C.P.I. (Forgotten Coast Paranormal Investigators) Preliminary Investigation:. The Dead Lakes comprise a wide area with different entrances to view the lake. We stopped at two different view points to get a feel for the energy. The first stop was on the Lake Grove Road bridge. The area appeared vacant of any paranormal activities. We felt peaceful and calming energies near the lake. We next went to Dead Lake Park and Campgrounds and the energy changed from nearly absent to high powered. We drove around the area to get a feel and both Dolphyn and Astoria felt energies rise and fall in different places. We parked the car and set off on foot to different areas in the park. At the boat landing and campgrounds were where we felt the highest energy flow. The energies of orb beings could be felt and we decided to begin taking photographs. Once again, we met up with a friendly cat who evidently was camping with her human family at one of the sites. This little gal was very eager to play and explore, but rather than show us around (as has happened in the past with other cat friends we met), she was content to curiously follow us and even allowed a few photos to be taken of herself ! We are beginning to see a pattern that when we meet up with cats, the energies in the area are very positive and joyful. We'll keep you posted on future investigations if this pattern continues to unfold along these lines. FINDINGS: The Dead Lakes area is filled with multiple energy sources. We were not struck by any negative entities, although the area does have a spooky look with its moss-draped magnolias, oak, and sweet gum trees. The longleaf pine trees also seem to be a favorite nesting spot for Orb Beings. This area is simply awesome for orb captures, as our photographs show. We were very surprised to see the amount of moving orbs trailing colorful tails through the skies, which were not visible to the naked eye. Upon inspection of our photos, we discovered that we had the ability to pick and choose the best photographs out of all that we had taken. We noticed that a number of the orb captures were rainbow colored. This is the first time we have found so many orb beings emanating multi-colored auras. And another rather spectacular find was the amount of moving orbs. We've never seen so much movement in one place. Another interesting find in our photographs was the appearance of a red heart-shaped orb and another very clear orb with unusual hollows on either side, making it resemble a very bright nose of an animal. Looking at this picture, one can almost imagine the eyes, head and ears hiding in the darkness. Photographs of both these orbs appear on the right side bar; please check them out ! Is the Dead Lakes haunted? Oh definitely so, but not in a negative sort of way. It appears to be a safe haven for orb beings who fly about their business enjoying the wonder of the natural ambiance in the area as much as we did. Recent construction and renovation at the campground make this a lovely, quiet place to connect with your higher self while being surrounded with the essence of nature's beauty. It wouldn't surprise us one bit if you would discover otherworldly beings enjoying your picnic with you under the swaying branches of the sweet magnolias. Beautiful area, beautiful energy and a beautiful place to visit .. day or night !
