Mystery Spot, Santa Cruz, CA and San Jose, CA
Strange things are happening in Santa Cruz ... weird things that can easily upset a delicate tummy or set your natural balance back a few inches!
Our flight to Florida didn't leave until 10 pm, so we had a whole day to soak in some history in the San Jose area. The Rosicrucian Museum was closed to our dismay - we were very interested in the Egyptian artifacts on dispaly there. However, we were able to walk the beautiful grounds and gardens which was in itself a real treat. Please see photographs below.
We made the best of the day by extending our paranormal investigation to one of the numerous "Mystery Spots" that dot the land -- and this one was only an hour away!
Santa Cruz is a beautiful coastal town with a sizable harbor that ends off in the distance in the western horizon. The Pacific Ocean .. truly a beautiful sight to see. But the real fun was to begin at the Mystery Spot, just outside of town. See below for photographs and our investigation.

Here you see a gentleman swinging a very heavy pendulum in the cabin that purportedly moved down the hill during an earthquake and is claimed to have landed exactly the way it is displayed.

It is very hard to walk through the tilted cabin without standing at an angle. However, you really don't feel it it physically, unless you are sensitive to the illusion .. and most folks truly are !

Optical illusions are everywhere at the Mystery Spot. Every board has been set in place to confound your equilibrium. It is really a fun spot to visit.

Site Properties: A few miles inland of the Pacific Ocean in Santa Cruz, CA. Site is wooded and set back from the hustle and bustle of downtown Santa Cruz in the foothills of the eastward mountains.
Investigators: Astoria and Dolphyn
Preliminary Investigation:. We drove from San Jose through a mountain pass to reach Santa Cruz. In downtown, we took a left turn onto a city street which felt rather out of place to locate this 'mystery spot." But lo and behold, a few miles up the road, we found the sign directting us to the Famous Santa Cruz Mystery Spot. The energy immediately changed a mile out of town. We still were among private homes, but they were more widely spaced apart and the energy began to pull us, like a magnet.
Once out of the car in the parking area of the Mystery Spot, the feeling was almost nauseating as the effect of the vortex was instantaneous, like a dizzy feeling. Nothing else seemed out of place. It appeared to be an active tourist 'trap' -- but with a twist! There was something definitely different about this place. The energy was strong .. and unusual!
FINDINGS: To say that there is something odd surrounding the Mystery Spot would in fact be an understatement. It is downright weird to watch balls, lipstick cases, any round or spherical object roll uphill, to climb straight up a wall, to swing a heavily weighted pendulum and watch it stop at an angle, and where in order to stand straight, you have to lean. The lay of the land most certainly adds to the optical illusion as does the construction of the building.
Although the Mystery Spot definintely exploits the illusionary side, there is no doubt that there exists an energy field in the area that is different. Some of this difference may well be that your equilibrium is purposely placed out of whack due to the construction of the buildings on the site - no doubt. But .. the energy there can be felt outside .. even in the parking area, before your eyes actually see the buildings. To us it felt almost like a magnetic pull. Even sitting on the benches waiting for the tour to begin, we felt queasy, which we attribute to some of the trees that are inside the 'mystery spot' leaning at a slight enough angle to play with the equilibrium.
Is the Mystery Spot haunted? We don't believe so.
Have alien beings left a deposit of metals unknown to this earth under the redwood trees? Probably not true.
However, being that the Santa Cruz Mystery Spot lies at the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, it is possible that there lies underneath an entrance to the numerous caves that reach deep underground traversing California and connecting to the west coast underground system, although we saw no evidence of it during our visit.
We did, however, find the presence of Orb Beings which may have been nature spirits attracted to the excitement that the visitors emit.
All in all, the Santa Cruz Mystery Spot is a fun place to visit, although our findings exhibit that it is not haunted, nor is there any type of paranormal activity of note to be reported!!
