Dreamtime Experiences: What Is Really Going On.

Greetings and welcome to Dream Class I - "Dreamtime Experiences: What Is Really Going On."

We begin our Dream Classes by explaining the difference between dreamtime and waking time, as if you don't already know the difference, correct? ~smile~

Of course, there is the obvious ... in dream time, our bodies are in repose and we hopefully gain enough recuperative sleep to wake up feeling refreshed and ready to begin anew. In waking time, we go about our daily business, learn, experience and share our moments until our bodies tell us it is time once again to rest. These are most obvious. However, there is a lot more going on during dreamtime and waking time than we may readily comprehend.

During dreamtime we continue our daily lessons and have experiences, much like we do in waking time. We may experience things in dreamtime that we are unable to handle during waking time, such as painfully rich experiences that could cause us physical harm.

Often we soul travel with our guides to different planes, worlds, regions - places where it may be impossible to travel in waking time. We visit learning temples, attend lectures, and even work as interns under tutelage of different spiritual masters and guides. As we grow spiritually, our assignments in dreamtime change to reflect this growth.

Have you ever awakened and still felt tired? It may be that you were having a stressful experience on the inner planes during dreamtime. Maybe your guides, using "holodeck" technology, orchestrated your participation in a battle or placed you in a bootcamp sequence of events where you were able to perform incredible feats. The possibilities are endless.

I mention 'holodeck' technology because the holodeck, as every 'Trekkie' knows, was a place on the starship where dreamlike experiences where offered, more or less, like a vacation via computerized programming. This is very much akin to our dreamtime experiences. On the holodeck, you could be anything you desired for a short time, from a swashbuckling pirate to an Egyptian King, all it took was running the proper program and having enough time to enjoy it! In dreamtime, you can do the same thing, because you, the dreamer are in control of your own 'holodeck'.

It is possible to go back into a dream and change the outcome. Say for instance, you wake up one morning and feel awful because of a dream experience where you were being chased by a fire-breathing dragon through a dense forest. Everywhere you tried to hide, the flames of the dragon's breath caught up with you, burning your skin, vaporizing bits of your clothing. You wake up sweaty and scared and realize it was simply a dream and you are safe in your bed. You close your eyes to go back to sleep, and there he is, the fire breathing dragon and he's chasing you again. You wake up, heart pounding, and are now afraid to go back to sleep.

Here you may use the 'lucid dreaming' technique to change the outcome of your dream and make it a positive experience. Remember, you are the dreamer and this is your dream. You are in control here. When you close your eyes, willingly go back and think of this dream, but this time, do so knowingly that it is a dream and that you can change it. This time when the dragon looms before you spitting fire and belching smoke, you reach down and pick up a fire hose, turn the nozzle and spray old fire breath right in the kisser. Hey .. its your dream, you can do what you want.! The idea here is that you can consciously take control of the dream and change the outcome when you know in your dream that you are 'only' dreaming.

Lucid dreaming in the above example accomplishes two things. First, you make the conscious choice to actively participate in dreamtime, which is a change from merely going along for the ride. Second, the act of battling your fears in dream state and winning the battle impact your waking state by raising your confidence level.

Dreamtime offers us a chance to safely work out karmic debts that may be lifetimes old under the guidance of seasoned 'handlers' who's job is to take us through these experiences. Here is an example:

In dreamtime, you find yourself living as a cropper in old England, 1500's, where you often had little left for your family's needs after paying your share to the Landlord. In a fit of rage, you enter the Landlord's home one night after watching your beloved wife put your children to bed with empty bellies. You stab the Landlord and watch him die, then you systematically kill his entire family, from his plump little wife to his chubby twin sons. In turn, his guards beat you and have you arrested. You are brought to the Governor whereupon you are tortured mercilessly for hours before finally being put to death. This type of scenario could actually be a payment of karmic debt, where you soul travel to a parallel time for the experience accompanied by your guide. By experiencing this merciless murder in dreamtime, you will not need to experience it in waking time and the debt is therefore quashed.

Many of these dream experiences are too visually stimulating or vividly distressful for us to encounter in waking state, so we participate during dreamtime where the mores of today's society have no jurisdiction. However, there is an assignment known as dream censoring which operates on the inner planes. The job of the dream censor is to transmute symbols from a life altering extreme to something more placid, harmless and mildly acceptable. These dream censors are highly evolved entities who are given full privilege in censoring our dream symbols. You cannot effect change from censored symbols or return them to their original state, but you can compile your own dream symbol dictionary to help you circumvent the dream censor's activity. This topic will be discussed in depth at a later portion of this class under "Building Your Dream Symbol Dictionary."

Even during waking state we have experiences that are not only the obvious, but a something akin to a dream which we call 'waking dreams.' A waking dream could occur while you are driving down the road where your mind drifts off and all of the sudden notice that you have unconsciously driven 10 miles. This can be a frightening experience and is sometimes called daydreaming, but more often than not, it is daytime soul travel.

Waking dreams actually have symbols with meaning, like dreamtime dreams. An example of a common waking dream is if you were fraught with worry over a matter and suddenly hear a song on the radio with a message that reassures you that things are going to be all right. Or you are sitting in traffic wondering if you should make a yes or no decision on a matter when you realize that the license plate of the car next to you reads "DU-IT."

I guess the bottom line is that during dreamtime and waking time, we are never alone and there is always someone with us, guiding, steering, offering assistance. Sometimes this guidance is sent in the form of a fellow human, or a beloved pet. Sometimes its a roadway sign. But the message is we are never alone and every moment is a precious learning experience, whether it be during dreamtime or waking time.

Homework: Here are your homework lessons ~smile~ These are exercises you can perform to help you gain a better foothold on your dreams - both sleeping and waking dreams.

1. Lucid Dreaming

(a) Before you enter dream time, make the conscious statement that you are going to knowingly enter dreamstate and acknowledge during dreamtime that you understand that you are dreaming. You may need to do this a number of times before you will remember a dream where you knew it was a dream while dreaming it.

(b) Upon waking from a dream, close your eyes and consciously reenter the dream and change the outcome. Use your imagination to create alternative endings.

2. Soul Traveling

Before falling asleep, whether at night or simply a nap, give permission to your guides to take you soul traveling. Then, using your imagination, 'see' yourself getting up, walking outside, looking up at the sky, walking down your street, observing as much as you can - blades of grass in between cracks in the sidewalk, or flowers in front of your neighbor's mailbox. Consciously "walk" around your neighborhood for a little while, then return to your sleeping place. Make note of any dreams threads that you can recall for analysis later..

3. Karmic Debts

Before entering dreamtime ask your guides to allow you to work out karmic debts in dreamstate. Tell your guides that you fully trust their judgment and that you give them permission to assist you in working through your karma in dreamstate. Upon awakening, make note of any dreams that you may have had for analysis later.

4. Waking Dreams

Sometimes when you really need it the most, your guides offer assistance in the form of a waking dream. In this assignment you are asked to pay special attention to car license plates when you are driving, to songs on the radio, to road signs, to newspaper headlines, etc. and make notes of 'coincidences.' -- Perhaps you are thinking about someone who has harmed you in the past and you are having difficulty releasing your anger. Suddenly, you realize that "Let It Be" is playing on the radio. Coincidence? Maybe, but more likely, a waking dream, courtesy of your inner guides.
